Local Governance Review Democracy Matters

The Local Governance Review will consider how powers, responsibilities and resources are shared across national and local spheres of government, and with communities.

We are inviting people to join a conversation about community decision-making, called Democracy Matters.

The conversation will take place over a period of 6 months, ending around November 2018. What we hear will help to inform new legislation.

You can get involved by answering the questions contained in the consultation document.

If you cannot get to any of the sessions there is also a webchat taking place on the 18th June

The sessions will provide background information and the majority of the event is designed to ensure your views are shared through facilitated workshops and feedback.

At the same time, we will be working with our public sector partners, such as local councils, to consider if increasing the powers they hold could improve outcomes for people.

Each event starts at 6.30pm and will conclude around 8.30pm.

There will also be an opportunity to meet some of the engagement team and view our exhibition which will be open one hour earlier at 5.30pm.
